Ellesse was founded in 1959 in Perugia, Italy. Initially, focus was on making ski clothes and it became popular during the 70's. The brand also has great ties to both the tennis and the ski community, especially since the logo represents the part of a tennis ball shape and the top of a pair of skis. Ellesse is also considered to be one of the first brands that came to include their logo on all the garment collections. The name came from founder Leonardo Servadio's initials LS, or "elle esse" as pronounced.
