Hunter was founded in 1856 by an American entrepreneur Henry Lee Norris, who settled in Scotland and started the company "North British Rubber Company". Initially, boots and other industrial goods were produced, and then they used the new patented and innovative vulcanization process to create durable rubber products. It was the beginning of World War I as production took real momentum. To protect soldiers stationed in the trenches, they were commissioned to produce heavy rubber boots. In 1956, the creation of the original Green Rubber Boot, today, marks the iconic design in the heart of Hunter's brand. A few years later, one came to titulate as a royal court supplier in Britain.
