Orlebar Brown was founded in London in 2007 by the photographer Adam Brown. He came up with the idea during a trip where he was tired of having to change shorts from the beach to go for lunch at the restaurant. He simply thought that the swim shorts for men was insufficient and therefore took the matter in his own hands. Orlebar Brown focuses on tailored shorts that can be used to swim in. Something more elegant that works equally well on the beach and the pool as in the lunch restaurant. The design is inspired by the 1960s swimwear and especially from the legendary photographer Slim Aaron's classic "Riviera" and "Palm Beach" photographs.
