Parajumpers has taken inspiration from the 210th Rescue Squad based in Anchorage, Alaska. The members are specially trained to sustain extreme rescue missions. The designer Massimo Rossetti had many years of experience in designing outerwear and was an importer of American brands to the Italian market. After meeting with a member of the rescue squad, he found the inspiration to create, today, the world-famous Parajumpers brand. The focus is on making outerwear in heavy nylon, with detachable down liners and fur-covered hoods. Many small designer details are taken from just parachute jumps, such as the powerful karbin hook and a variety of smart pockets around the jacket. One strives for the motto: "that others may live".
