Woolrich was founded in 1830 by John Rich and Daniel McCormick. They are the oldest manufacturer of outerwear in the United States. The basic idea was to assist forest shoppers and hunters with clothes. Subsequently, one came to deliver clothes to the American Civil War as well as a variety of arctic expeditions. During the 1980s, the Italian company WP, Work in Progress, took over the European distribution and created Woolrich John Rich & Bros. They mixed the classic American philosophy with modern design and high quality. The flagship model is the classic Arctic Parka, which is a winner during the winter cold.
